A Personal Note :
Until recently, Willow Cottage had been owned and let for many years by Bob and Margaret McAllister who were responsible for its restoration. In 2001 the cottage was sold to John and Lucie Davidson who continued to let it out as a most popular holiday concern.
We discovered the cottage on a trip to Arran the following year, and though we have enjoyed exploring many other Scottish Islands, we found ourselves returning consistently to Arran and Willow Cottage. There seemed to us a special atmosphere in the cottage and on the northwest coast of the Island. We never tired of the deep quietness, the wonderful views from the sun lounge, the amazing sunsets, the wildlife, the coastal and hill walking, and the general feel of the whole island.
When the Davidsons offered us the
opportunity to buy Willow Cottage it was not a difficult decision...
Now we feel so lucky to have the cottage for our own
enjoyment, and
to be able to let it out to others who want to share the magic.
